Your wedding day is likely to be one of the most hectic days of your life. In between the ceremony, the reception and possibly flying off on honeymoon, there is often very little time for brides or grooms to relax.

For this reason, it’s important to get fully prepared in the weeks and months leading up to your wedding. Even the 7 days before the big day provide a great chance to get loose ends tied up or to just get some general prep done. This article presents a check-list of five things to do in the 7 days leading up to your wedding.

1. Beauty treatments

It is tradition for both the bride and the groom to look at their stunning best on their wedding day. In order to look as fresh as possible, it’s a great idea to book beauty treatments such as manicures, facials or hair colouring a few days before your wedding.

Many brides choose to go on spa days with a couple of their closest friends or family members, so everyone can be relaxed and feel beautiful on the big day.

It is important to relax immediately before such a busy day and there are few better ways to do this than trips to a hotel spa. A trip like this will also give you the chance to speak with those who have travelled to witness your big day.

2. Confirm times

In order to ensure that there are no embarrassing mix-ups with travel companies, it is a good idea to phone any limousine companies, photographers, taxi companies etc. to confirm what time people will need to be picked up at.

3. Rehearsal dinner

Many couples choose to stage a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding so that there is no confusion amongst guests as far the order of proceedings goes. You could do this a few days before alternatively, if you wish.

4. Rest

Resist the temptation to go out for a big night with all your friends and family in the week prior to the event. Make sure you get lots of rest so you are physically prepared for the big day and are looking your best.

These activities should help you make the most of your big day when it finally arrives.
